All my life I've been involved in art or artistic endeavors one way or another. Having grown up in California, I was a landscaper for many years. I was drawn to it by my enjoyment of landscape design and later I specialized in creating water features.
After relocating to Arizona my photography hobby grew into a business and I was a Nikon photographer for over 14 years. I learned I can shoot anything and mastered the art of photographing action shots. I was the track photographer at a local racetrack for many years and shot anything on 2 or 4 wheels. I have done events, families, portraits, racing, weather, wildlife, engagements, and weddings.
I learned Photoshop to use with my photos and from that I learned digital painting. From there I moved into sketching on paper with pencil, charcoal and graphite, the transition went well. After that I started in with watercolor, acrilycs and airbrushing and had fun the whole way.
I was introduced to clay a few years ago and I fell in love with it! I took to it like a duck to water, I must have done it before in an another life. I use many types of clay such as high fire, low fire (Whiteware), and a special blend for Raku. The ceramic studio I built has a large electric kiln, large Raku kiln and a large glazing area.
My most recent medium is working with copper. I've been creating jewelry and wall art and continue to branch out and experiment.
In my spare time I've done some graphic design, built websites (just like this one), and have a huge selection of photo stock from my photography and digital painting library. On top of learning all these different mediums, I can combine them anyway I want. I love to experiment, so I'm always creating something outside the box here, and that is the way I like it.
